Expectations of Steering Committee Vice Chair

From Our By-laws:
The Vice-Chair presides at all regular meetings of the Steering Committee and General meetings of the Council in the absence of (or as directed by) the Chair.  (When acting as Chair) he/she is responsible for the enforcement of the laws (and policies) of the Council, and securing the execution of the will of its members.  He/she is an ex officio member of the Finance and Nominations Committees.

(The Vice-Chair) must be a Member of the Council and shall be chosen by a majority vote of the members present (at a community meeting).  (The Vice-Chair) shall hold office for one (1) year or until a successor has been chosen and qualified.  (The Vice-Chair) may be re-elected to one or more terms.

Other Considerations & Desirable Qualities:

Supports and assumes responsibility for all expectations of Chair in his/her absence

May participate on and/or chair Council committees and task forces as approved by the Steering Committee.

Is presumed to be lead candidate to succeed Chair upon the Chair’s resignation or end of term, following the Nominations Committee procedures in Article XIV of the Association’s By-laws.
