Lower Merriewood Stairs Cleanup

As part of the TPST effort to make the greater Montclair area a safer place, a team of volunteers devoted 25 hours in August 2004 to the Lower Merriewood Stairs for an annual cleanup. What they did included:

  • Trimming the trees/bushes high above the stairs
  • Trimming the vegetation on both sides of the stairs, 3 feet back where possible
  • Raking the stairs to remove large vegetation litter
  • Raking the stairs again to remove small vegetation litter
  • Sweeping the stairs to remove dirt and grit
  • Powerwashing the stairs to fully clean them

Our thanks to the following for their volunteer efforts: Jim Dexter, Dale Dinter, Dick & Sallie Olsen, Robert Shaw, and Larry Struck.

Here are some photographs of the work done.
